Day 03: Guwahati – Hajo (Excursion Tour)

Attractions: Hayagriya Madhava temple, Powa-Mecca

After Breakfast, proceed for an excursion tour to Hajo with our Tour Representative.  Hajo is a sacred place for three religions Hindu, Islam and Buddhists. Hajo has numerous Temples and the prime amongst them is Hayagriya Madhava Temple devoted to Lord Vishnu.  It is also believed that Lord Buddha has attained Nirvana at the sacred point.  Powa Mecca in Hajo is another famous and sacred site in Islam religion.  Powa Mecca is believed to have a one-fourth of the sanctity of Mecca in Saudi Arabia and the soil used in the foundation of Powa Mecca was brought from Mecca. Hajo also has relevance with Mahabharata and it is believed that Pandava’s during their anonymity period had taken a shelter at Hajo.
